As you may already know, you can search for images on the major search engines. Search Engines such as Yahoo, Google and MSN searches websites for images and indexes these images and displays them on their image search results.
To understand what I am referring to, you need to go to www.google.com. On that page you will find a link called “Images” on the top left hand corner. Click on that link and make a search on any topic and you will get image results corresponding to your search term. The images displayed are the result of Google having indexed these images from millions of websites.
If you click on any of the image, you will taken to the page where that image is originally displayed on. So you have just visited that page via an image search from a search engine.
Using image searches is an easy and effective way to get visitors to your websites. Some sites get several hundred visitors weekly through image searches. You too can start getting web traffic to your sites via image searches by following the simple tips listed below.
Firstly, you should save your images using your keyword as the file name. Using file names such as pic001.jpg or pic002.gif to name your images just isn’t smart. Use correct/actual keywords to name your images. If your image is of a lightbulb, then you should name your image lightbulb.gif or light-bulb.jpg. Any name that describe the image will suffice.
Use “alt text” to describe the images on your site. The alt text (also called alt tag or alternate text), helps the search engine know what your image is about and helps them to correctly index the image.
Here is an example of correctly naming and tagging your image file. Let’s say you have an image of a dark grey Prada herringbone suit. I would name that image file something like prada-dark-grey-herringbone-suit.jpg. So I have added/described the image in my file name. I then upload this image to my website at this location: http://onlinemarketinghub.com/images/prada-dark-grey-herringbone-suit.jpg
Next I need to add an alternate text to the image when I add the image to my web page. I want to use “Prada Herringbone Suit - Dark Grey” as my text to describe the image.
I use the following code to add the image to my page : <img src=”http://onlinemarketinghub.com/images/prada-dark-grey-herringbone-suit.jpg” alt=”Prada Herringbone Suit - Dark Grey” />
Prada Herringbone Suit - Dark Grey
The above picture has been inserted using the code shown above. The image has been properly named and tagged to make it easier for the search engine to index it. The next time the search engine bots come over to this blog to re-index it, they will also index the image.
The above method is very easy and fast to implement. You should be doing this for all the images on your sites and blogs. Hopefully, you too can start getting visitors via image searches on search engines.
I have just launched a new site that provides URL shrinking and cloaking service for free. The site is called ProvideMe.Info.
Just type in your long URL, type an extension you would like to use with the URL (optional) and press GO. The page will then automatically generate a new shorter link for you that will redirect to your original URL.
The site currently only has the script installed and there are no other links or advertisement displayed. It looks neat and clean and that is how I like it. I might be adding an advertisement or two in the future.
Another similar service that is very popular and has been online for a long time is TinyUrl.com.
Another advantage of using ProvideMe is that it is brand new and you can still get any URL extension as they are still available.
However, these two above mentioned services will not track the number of clicks your links get. Another service called ViralUrl provides URL shortening/cloaking service and also tracks the number of clicks your links receive. This is also a free service but they will put a small ad bar on every redirected pages.
Tracking the number of clicks your links get is a great way to test out ads and sites that have visitors interested in your offers. You can create a unique redirect extension for each site and track the number of clicks each link get to learn which sites are referring more traffic to your URLs.
Many auto responder services such as Aweber and Norabots also provide link cloaking, shortening and click tracking services without an ad bar but these services require monthly fees.
Similarly, you can use php or java scripts to do all these functions with your own domain. You can create redirect/cloaking pages for each link and upload them to your server. There are definitely more options and advantages to using this method such as full cloaking, customized page titles and much more. I will leave this topic for some other time.
URL shortening does have its benefits, no matter which service you choose to use. Leave a comment below and let me know if you are using any of the above methods to shorten, cloak or redirect your links and which ones are working for you.
Creating content to generate an income online is not something new. Ordinary people have been successfully profiting through their content via Google Adsense, affiliate products and so on for several years now. The bottom line is that your content - original content - has value. The value of your content is dependent on how you use them to generate income.
A new way to make your content generate income is by submitting your original articles, videos, audio files and PowerPoint presentations to Bukisa. Bukisa will publish these content on their site and will share their income with you.
Your content will keep producing you residual income month after month. Bukisa does revenue sharing with all its members in relation to the performance of each members content.
Bukisa pays you a certain amount monthly on the number of unique pageviews your content receive in a month. The more unique visitors view your content - the more you will earn. The exact amount you earn depends entirely on the Bukisa Index - an algorithm that tells you how much $$ you will make per thousand unique views of your content for any given month.
If the Bukisa Index is set at the value of 4.0 for a month, then that means you will get paid $4.0 for every 1,000 unique views your content generate.
Additionally, you also earn more by referring new members to join down 3 levels.
I have just joined the site today myself and have yet to go and work on it. I think this site will be a big hit just like Squidoo and I think you should go sign up and publish your content there to test it out yourself. Remember, it is a brand new site and you have an early bird advantage to recruit new members.

Each hub you create has the potential to earn you money. HubPages support a few built in affiliate programs that you can easily integrate to your hubs and earn revenue from you hubs. They provide you with built-in money making modules that you can add to your hubs with a click of a button.
